Overview
The CrewHQ Mid-Level Development Programme supports crew who feel they are ready to develop their skills. It is designed for those who want to build the confidence, influence and practical skills needed to succeed, whatever their job title.
At the heart of the programme is a blend of interactive group workshops, peer-to-peer learning, industry-specific skills training and one-to-one coaching sessions. Participants across a range of grades and departments come together for the in-person personal development workshops, creating opportunities to learn, connect and share experiences.
There are twelve places available on this high-impact programme.
While this programme provides valuable learning, coaching and development opportunities, participation does not guarantee employment or advancement to a higher-grade position on a WBD production.

What
You’ll Gain
By the end of the programme, participants will:
Feel more confident and empowered in their professional development
- Develop role specific skills and insights within their department
- Develop the communication and leadership skills to handle difficult conversations, influence peers and lead with clarity under pressure
- Understand the impact they have on industry culture and develop the skills to mentor others and champion inclusion

Who
Can Apply?
This programme is aimed at freelance crew who:
- Have been in the industry for at least five years
- Have held the same role (or equivalent level) for three years
- Have worked on a Warner Bros. Discovery production within the last five years, (or more with a deliberate career break)
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the programme. Eligibility checks will be carried out during the selection process.

- If shortlisted, your HOD Referee will be contacted to provide a 300-word professional reference and up to 5 development/skills gaps for you.

The CrewHQ Mid-Level Development Programme is a chance to invest in your personal and professional development alongside a cohort of experienced WBD crew from across the industry. You’ll learn from your peers, build new connections and share experiences with others facing similar workplace challenges in different departments.
Through a blend of personal development training, one-to-one coaching, industry skills development and support from an experienced Senior Crew Sponsor, you’ll gain practical tools, new perspectives and personalised support.
No. The programme is completely free for participants. All training, coaching, and sessions are fully funded.
Due to the significant investment in each participant, successful applicants will be asked to sign a participant commitment agreement before joining the programme.
Participants are expected to:
- Attend all training, coaching, and sponsor meetings.
- Engage fully with their Personal Development Plan.
- Demonstrate collaborative and inclusive behaviour throughout.
- “Give back” by supporting future cohorts and the wider CrewHQ community.
- Take part in evaluation interviews and feedback processes.

To be eligible for the scheme, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. Full right-to-work checks will be conducted at the interview stage.
