CrewHQ is committed to providing existing crew with opportunities to develop and unlock new opportunities in the film and TV industry. The Step Up programme is a leadership programme which supports crew aiming to level up in their careers by providing them with the skills and confidence they need to take on a senior leadership role.

The programme aims to bridge the gap in skills and training for senior leadership positions in departments across film and TV. Crew were empowered to develop the mindset and behaviours of an effective senior leader in a series of impactful sessions, covering topics including:

• Personal impact and communication.
• Confidence and assertiveness.
• Managing others.
• How to become the type of leader you want to be.

Crew members were also given the opportunity to work with actors at the Royal Academy of Drama in a series of roleplay scenarios, which encouraged them to consider what good leadership involves, and what type of leader they wanted to be. We have loved seeing how crew members transformed from the beginning to the end of the programme to become more assured and confident in themselves, and how they manage others.
