The SevenUp Programme is a training and skills initiative providing opportunities for 4 week paid shadowing at HOD level placements on Warner Bros. Television, HBO series and Warner Bros. Features.
SevenUp is a work experience opportunity for people that love film and HETV and either already work, or that want to work below-the-line (not writer, director, producer, stunts or on-screen talent) in film and HETV production. SevenUp specifically focuses on those that have experienced significant barriers to entry and advancement in below the line film production, that have a right to work and live in the UK and are over 18. It offers 4 weeks of work experience for entry level talent (those with no, or a year or less of filmmaking experience) and 4 weeks of shadowing (at HOD level) for existing, mid-level crew (who have worked in the industry for 5 years and have 1-2 credits at their current level). This opportunity is paid. Mid-level crew will also receive training on mentoring and be paired with early entrants to support the next generation of filmmakers.
We want the industry to be inclusive of everyone, and we recognise not everyone comes from the same starting point. We hope that SevenUp will be part of a larger chance for building a fairer film industry for all.
Applicants will be invited to apply for the programme via our website and social media with an expression of interest and attached cover letter and CV. The application will include a couple of questions to help us understand why you’re applying for the programme. Our final selection will be invited to an interview and then given a week of training (all expenses paid) before having 4 bankable weeks of production experience paid at national living wage. Accommodation for this period will also be covered.
Whilst there is no guarantee of paid work after the programme; for early entrants, they’ll have the opportunity to interview for the Trainee Programme after SevenUp, which offers up to a year of paid support and placements on our HBO, Warner Bros. Television, and Warner Bros. Features productions. For existing mid-level crew, on the programme they have the opportunity to shadow heads of department for 4 weeks, leading to natural connections and opportunities to showcase skills, creativity and behaviours that will result in hiring.
Applications for existing mid-level crew open on 10th April. Successful candidates will be placed in a shadowing opportunity in the Summer.
