To celebrate the release of Bong Joon-Ho’s sci-fi satire Mickey 17, CrewHQ hosted a Careers Day to die for. Aspiring filmmakers connected to our industry partners were able to catch an exclusive screening of Mickey 17 before going behind the scenes of the making of the wacky and darkly funny space oddity in a Q&A with the crew. The panel included Production Designer Fiona Crombie (Hamnet, The Favourite), Set Decorator Alice Felton (The King, Cruella), and SFX Supervisor Dominic Tuohy (The Batman, 1917), and was livestreamed across the UK.
Attendees were able to get a taste of what it’s like working on a blockbuster film through interactive workshops run by crew from the Art, Special Effects, and Electrical departments. Lunch time offered up the perfect opportunity to network and connect with other aspiring filmmakers before the day wrapped up with an insightful Q&A with alumni of the CrewHQ Trainee Programme.
Our Careers Days aim to inspire the next generation of production crew by offering unparalleled access to below the line production crew bringing incredible stories to life and BTS insight into working in the production industry.
